Great food, 2/3/2016

snixie from wisconsin

We have owned 5 Ferrer's over the past 15 years and have tried other foods. After finding Zupreem we haven't gone back to any other foods. And after finding it at ferret.com are so happy with the price. The company also stands behind their product. After receiving one bag our dark ferret started losing weight. She didn't like that batch of food. Zupreem sent a new bag and all was well. Customer service even called back to see if Snixie was doing better!

Great Service, 1/15/2016

Ferretbaby from Browns Mills, Pemberton Township, NJ, USA

Ferret.com has always delivered fast service. Due to my busy life, like I'm sure everyone has, I almost ran out of ferret food. I went on line and ordered ZuPreem Premium Ferret food and it was delivered in a couple of days. My two dorks just love this food, and more important, it is so good for them. (Just read the ingredients on the label.) I love ferret.com - they always have everything I need. Thanks Linda B.

as I thought it to be. It's not the least healthy but it's not as heathy as I thought it was. Do your research, talk to your Dr. to decide instead of choosing a food based on price like I did.

It seems there is a differnece in ingredients in 8 lb bag and 30 lb bag, 1/30/2015

gman1 from

Great product! However, did anyone notice a difference in ingredients in the two different size bags? The large bag has no corn like the smaller one, but the first five ingredients are placed in different order and some of the vits. and minerals seem less in the larger bag. Anyone explain?

My ferrets took right to this food while I was in the process of getting higher quality food. They didn't have issues, and it was something they liked. It just isn't the best quality food itself so I did end up changing.

Although expensive combined with a cheaper food to balance the price and stretch the food it is exactly what my ferret likes. With others we have experienced runny or constipation. We have found the perfect combination.

Only Ferret Food Without Fish!, 4/1/2014

Ferretmom81 from Texas, USA

The smell decreased dramatically when I cut back on how much fish my 3 boys consumed. This food was highly recommended to me by Dr. Mendoza, who had 14 years experience with the Houston Zoo and specialized in exotics. While I mix in a small bag of Blue Buffalo Wilderness Kitten, for a little boost in antioxidants and to give my oldest a little extra while he fights cancer, the Zupreem has been a life saver. Literally saved my oldest from death's door, he was rescued and had almost starved to death being fed dog food (NEVER FEED FERRET DOG FOOD) and I used this mixed with warm water to nurse him back to health. I always make sure I have plenty in stock and rely on this site to keep it that way, the delivery time is exceptional and the customer service is beyond expectation.

My veterinarian recommends this brand, 12/16/2013

Lucinda from Virginia Beach, VA USA

ZuPreem is recommended by my vet and our local ferret rescue person. The mixture does not make your ferret smell like another well known brand does. I do not have to bathe my ferrets, unless they become dirty. They smell like little ferrets should, sweet.

I originally started my babies on 5 different foods, this is one of the few they still eat. I haven't had any issues with recalls or finding this product. I personally believe they should have a low and high quality mix, so I also buy others. They do love the taste!

60% doesn't cut it, 7/19/2013

KM85 from

Let's be frank. This product advertises itself as perfect for the obligate-carnivore. But is it? Ferrets can't eat ANYTHING that isn't meat-based (fat, protein, cartilage, etc.) People who like ZuPreem say it's great because bad ferret food has "corn" as ingredient 2. Ingredients #3, 4, and 6 in ZuPreem are wheat, wheat, and beets. That's too much. They can only muster 60% guaranteed protein+fat, and that's not enough. So my frank assessment, as a longtime ferret owner and as someone who tried this food before -- regardless of the abysmal 60% -- and saw the negative results: You can do better than ZuPreem, and even so at a comparable price. Ferrets eat until they are full, and for ferrets, the biological pathway that controls this is triggered by fat intake. This means if the food is only 60% of what they need (and up to 40% filler), they will eat nearly twice as much food just to get their fill. That's good for them, and good for you (less mess to clean, less food to buy).

Disappointing, 1/7/2013

Strychine from American Fork, UT

I switched my business of three to this food, because their old food is no longer sold in stores. I did what you're supposed to do and mixed it with what I had left of their old food until it was gone. They have been eating this for a month now and it has been HORRIBLE! They all have diarrhea, they have all lost weight, their coats have become rough, and every night they have dug the food out of their bowl and thrown it on the floor. It seems like I am the only one who has been having these problems, but I am switching their food again because of this disappointing product.

Good, 10/29/2012

Kim from Michigan

One ferret loves it, the other was hesitant. Now they both eat it and are happy, healthy little buggers. One thing, though: a previous reviewer said their ferret's poop smelled like flowers?! I'd like to know what they've been smoking because that's a universe I want to visit! My ferrets are low-smell compared to many others, but their s*%t STINKS! They're carnivores. They don't eat flowers. Even if they did their dung wouldn't smell like botany class!

Kibble is too hard!, 12/24/2011

brinzie from Phoenix, AZ

I've been feeding my 2 ferrets 8in1 Ultimate for awhile and decided to try something different. I was really excited to give this to them, and I really hoped they would like it. 1st of all, the kibbles are hard and thick. I cant even break a kibble with my fingers! My ferrets dug to try and find the small pieces to eat. I had to hammer the bag to make the kibble smaller. I also noticed after about a month that their potty started smelling... different. It was stinkier than normal! I decided to go back to 8in1 and they were happy to go back to it too! The price is awesome here, though! Too bad my babies didn't like this food.

ZellaHan from Bristol, TN

My ferrets absolutely love this food. When I got my newest addition he was on a much cheaper, lower-quality food. When he was presented with a bowl of this and a bowl of his old kibble he immediately chose this food! Not to mention his fur and overall health has improved 70%! Also, it your local PetSmart an 8lbs bag of this food is $28! Here you can get almost 2 8lbs bags for that price! Great buy here, and great food!

A good food, 8/30/2011

Elisa from Orlando, FL

I've read a few reviews that say the food gets stuck in the roof of their ferret's mouths, but neither of my two ferrets have had this issue. I have two boys, just over a year, and they don't seem to have any issues with it. They're happy and energetic, and always seem eager to eat it, so overall I'd take that as their approval. It is a bit pricey, which is a bit of a downer, but if what people say are true, at least it's nutritious and good for them.

It is a bit pricey, which is a bit of a downer, but if what people say are true, at least it's nutritious and good for them.

Life saver.., 8/25/2011

Jess from somwherein, wv

I recently adopted another ferret who has been fed nothing but cheap cat food. No matter what I tried I could not convert her to ferret food. Tried every trick in the book. She wouldn't even eat chicken, beef, or baby food. I bought this for my other ferret because the pet store here quit carrying ferret food. Immediatly the adopted started eating it. I love this stuff.

Great food, bad shape, 2/16/2011

sierra from jeffersonville, IN

I agree. I have used this food for my babies (4 total thus far) for over 2 years and love the benefits of it's ingredients. I thought my little girl just had a "smaller roof of her mouth" and that was why it always seemed to get stuck, but my 3 boys (way bigger than she was) have the same problem. They all get it stuck at one point if I don't break it up some. I don't add water or other kibble, but do feel I have to break up in order to keep them from getting it stuck. Zupreems other variety has a more friendly shape, they need to change this shape.

Great product, ferrets love it!, 2/13/2011

GeorgieP from Quincy, IL

I did a lot of research before buying my first ferret. I learned that ferrets are obligate carnivores and require a minimum amount of both animal fat and protein and should not have much, if any, plant fillers such as corn. So I was shocked when most of the ferret foods in the stores around town had corn as the second ingredient listed. So I decided to shell out a little extra $$ for this quality ferret food. If you truly love your little fuzzbutt you will want to give them the best...I believe this to be a quality ferret food.. Not to mention my little guy loves it! He is a Marshall ferret so in order to validate his 1year warranty I was required to keep him on Marshalls food for the first year, however I started adding ZuPreem to the mix and he stopped eating the Marshalls, I found that he had picked out all the the ZuPreem. Great product,I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves their ferts.

Improved My Ferrets Health, 2/3/2011

Ashley from

One of my male ferrets has an enlarged spleen that tends to get swollen when he eats a treat. I read the ingredients to this food and thought I would see if it helped. IT DID!! His spleen never gets enlarged anymore. He can eat a treat with the rest of his siblings now. I love the fact that there is no corn in it! Wonderful product. Thanks!

Very pleased!, 2/1/2011

Amy from

I adopted my 3 babies in September & switched them over to Zupreem & one other food. I am very pleased with how active they are, how nice their coats look & it does seem to help some with the poo smell. They all gained weight & look great!!!

Better than Marshall's!!, 1/26/2011

Madii from

I got my ferret, Jinx, a week ago from Petco, where he was of course, being fed Marshall's. He immediately took to ZuPreem and he eats the heck out of it!! The shape of the kibble is a bit odd, so I grind the kibble up in a food processor, then moisten it with warm water. I was going to buy ZuPreem "GrainFree" but they didn't have it at the time. Definitely worth the buy, though, be sure to mix your fuzzbutt's food with other kibble!!

My little fuzz loves this stuff., 10/28/2010

Ashley from

Every since I got my little fert, jasper, he's been eating Zupreem for a year. I switched him off of Marshall's and he immediately took to this food. This is the only dry kibble I feed the little guy and he is as healthy as can be! Energetic, playful, attacks things that aren't there... As for the people who have mentioned the shape, I have never had a problem with it, nor has he. I recommend this to any fert owner that love's their kid.

Good food, Agree Dangerous Shape, 5/29/2010

Genna from Kentucky

My 2 ferrets love this food. However, I agree with the previous post that the food is a terrible shape. I have had to remove pieces of food with tweezers from the roof of my ferrets mouth multiple times. It's unknown how many times she's had to struggle when I am not there. I have started to dampen the food so that it is softer and less likely to become lodged.

Super food, 4/15/2010

Bryant from Spring, Tx

i just got my second ferret two weeks ago and switched him from the recommended low quality food to Zupreem. What a difference in the smell! Plus his coat is starting to get shiny. He loves it but he hates ferretone. I love that he doesn't need supplements with Zupreem.

Love this food!, 2/25/2010

Daphne U from Hobbs, NM

I had taken my ferrets off of Marshall's, as they seemed less energetic, and just laid around, not wanting to play. Once I switched them, I have seen a world of difference!! They are leaner, play longer, more vocal, and seem happier with ZuPreen. I'm glad I made the switch!

Makes your ferrets HEALTHIER, 1/3/2010

Kiley S. from Detroit MI

I never realised just how much food impacts my fuzzies life until I switched them from the cheap, low quality brand to the Zupreem, and the difference is amazing. My little one, KiKi, was so sickly, and in the 6 months leading up to the switch was seriously ill 3 different times, for over a week each time. Since I've switched them, over 3 year ago now, she's been sick ONCE, when she got ECE from my new boys. I highly HIGHLY recommend this to every ferret owner I meet. My boys get into EVERYthing, and chew up a lot of stuff they shouldn't, but (*knock on wood*) they've never had a problem yet and I firmly believe that this food has something to do with that.

My boys get into EVERYthing, and chew up a lot of stuff they shouldn't, but (*knock on wood*) they've never had a problem yet and I firmly believe that this food has something to do with that.

good food, 10/7/2009

AAEMH from PA

I have used this food for a number of years now, mixed in with other food. I have never had any problems whatsoever with food getting stuck in their mouth with any of the ferrets I have had. One of my current ferrets is an extremely picky eater- she doesn't even really like treats- but she took to this food with no problem at all.

Scored in Top Three Best Foods!, 9/22/2009

Trish from Oshkosh, WI

After my newly one-year-old male lost too much weight for me to handle (my son, who also has ferrets, tried telling me they all lose weight when they get that age.) I told him, "No,there is something wrong." As he also looked sickly in his eyes, (Moms can always tell when their children are sick by their eyes.) I decided I better do some research. I came upon a study that put ZuPreem, EVO & Sheppard & Green in the top three of ferret foods for the healthiest food content. I am so MAD & SHOCKED after reading what the other top name brands are so full of and the bad ingredients they KNOW IS NOT GOOD FOR FERRETS, yet put in anyways, for the almighty buck, PROVING THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT FERRETS! They should be FINED or taken off the market for the crap they throw in our little loved one's food!!! Up to this point I had tried most of the ferret foods, but when I put out ZuPreem, my skinny little guy immediately devoured it! I am so happy to report my boy is gaining weight and his eyes tell me he is feeling better!!! This is also the FIRST FOOD that is EMPTY from their cage bowl in the morning! My other younger ferret loves it too! ONCE AGAIN, I GET TO HEAR ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDS I HAVEN'T HEARD IN A LONG TIME-THAT OF MY HEALTHY BOY NIBBLING ON HIS FOOD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. And, who cares about how their poo smells as long as they are healthy, right?!!! Like the saying goes, (with editing done, of course) AND YOU THINK YOUR "POO" DOESN'T STINK?!!!!!

Great nutrition, but dangerous kibble shape, 7/28/2009

Chelsea from CT

I just switched my ferret from Marshall food to Zupreem a couple of weeks ago. She took to the new food almost immediately, and I am very pleased with the nutritional content of Zupreem vs. Marshall food. She liked the Zupreem so much that after only a few days I was able to cut out mixing in the Marshall food and she did just fine. However, I do have one serious concern about this food. The kibble pieces are the perfect size and shape to get stuck in the top of my ferret's mouth and choke her. I have seen this happen a few times while she was eating, and I'm sure it's happened numerous times that I did not witness. She has to stop and use her hands to dislodge the piece from her mouth, which is very difficult for her and painful to watch since I cannot help her. Needless to say, I will no longer be feeding her Zupreem food, which is unfortunate, but I don't want my ferret to choke to death. I really wouldn't recommmend this food to other ferret owners, at least not without warning.

My lil Buddies Love it!, 7/21/2009

Bryan from St. Anthony, Idaho

ZuPreen is a great 'Mixer' Food but I don't recomend it being the Sole food. I feed it about 4 to 1 (1 being the zupreen) and the other, another brand that is private label. But I have watched, I have 7 fuzzy buddies and they will ALL dig through the food bowl to find the Zupreen. Then will eat the rest. Great Skin, Hair is Beautiful Bright eyes, and TONS of energy! And Ferrets.com Always has a great price on it.. Just wish it came it larger quantities.

Good all around, 5/26/2009

My ferrets took to it very well, I would say within 3 or 4 days. Plus it is fairly healthy and purchasable at local stores if you are in a pinch.

My picky ferret loves it!, 5/24/2009

Sonn from Hazard, ky

I was surprised when one of my ferrets who shuns almost all food dived into the food bowl. It does make his poop smell quite a bit worse but I can live with that. Even after only a week he looks and smells much better than he did with the bad food he was on.

My two ferrets love this food! One of my baby ferrets was not gaining any weight on the previous food I tried feeding them until I bought this food. Within a few days of eating this food he began to gain weight. He is now at a very healthy weight and is doing wonderful.

By far the 2nd best food for your Ferret!, 5/9/2009

Simon from Newaygo,MI

Zupreem is by far the 2nd best food for you ferret on the market. I have two Marshall ferrets and upon feeding them Zupreem mixed with EVO I've found that they are more alert, active and have a much more shiny coat then with ANY other combination of foods. Zupreem is cost effective for a food based on a RAW diet. EVO is the best but cost much more. So for people on a budget but that want the best for thier fuzzies, then I definitely suggest Zupreem!

re: Corn Gluten as binder, 4/17/2009

Diane Arnold from Kapowsin, WA

I contacted Jennifer McDaniel, Sales and Marketing Account Executive for ZuPreem after reading the comment that Danita posted stating that Corn Gluten was used as a binder. It would be interesting for her to contact ZuPreem to see what other ingredient may have been the culprit of the apparent allergic reaction. Jennifer reassured me that they do not use corn as a binder, but rather, Beet Pulp. She also reminded my about abruptly changing food and what it can do the the intestinal track of a Ferret. I am just switching our 10 week ferret, Matty to ZuPreem and will write another review later. Hopefully this information is correct and clears some confusion for those of us new to ferret patenting.

When it comes to finding the best quality kind of food with a low price, Zupreem is the best! My two fuzzies loves this food! For the ingredients it has no corn and fishmeal, which makes their litterbox stick less!

5 Star Quality, 3/30/2009

JKP from Charlotte, NC

This food is fantastic, It has everything a ferret diet requires. Zupreems ingredients do not contain all the products that ferrets cannot digest like many "ferret" foods have (unfortunatly). Plus your ferret will love the taste. It will be the only food I buy.. also buy the small bags because they contain coupons with several dollers off the larger bags. Its a great product at a reasonable price...

Allergic Reaction!! BEWARE, 3/30/2009

Danita from Ct

After my ferret started throwing up, having diarreha, a swollen (i mean blown up) face and neck, I had to figure out what she got into. Turns out she has a very common ferret allergy to the Corn Gluten that is used as a bonding agent in the food. It was so bad, I thought I was going to lose her, please be careful if you use or are planning to switch to this food! I now have gone back to 8-in-1 and Evo combo and it works great and all three of my fuzzies are healthy and active.

Great food, 3/19/2009

Ken from SC

After I started to feed my kids this they seemed more active and pooped a lot less, also as a result of using this I don't have to purchase food nearly as often. Only thing I didn't understand is how an 8lb bag has a shipping weight of 6 lbs...

Made a Difference, 3/18/2009

Alyssa from Atlanta, Ga

When I adopted my second ferret she was skinny and had a yellowish, greasy coat. The previous owners had her on 8 in 1. I put her on Zupreem and she put on healthy weight and turned beautiful, pure white. And her coat was nice and fluffy too. Since then I havent trusted any other brand with my ferrets. My now four ferries all love their food and all have amazing coats, energy, and they dont stink!!

What A Difference!, 3/2/2009

Jim B from Post Falls, ID

I was feeding my two fuzzies the 8 in 1 crunchy (that's what they had been eating when I acquired them) then was reading food charts and customer ratings and decided to give this a try. They took to it immediately and within a week my albino who had been pretty plethoric (fat and lazy) up to this point started to lose weight and become 100% more active. I mean that he was so lazy that when my sable would try to get him to play by latching onto some neck scruff or even one of his ears and literally dragging him around the floor he wouldn't respond or even try to defend himself! Now he's actually instigating some wrestling and roughhousing! It's got to be the food, it's the only thing that I've changed.

Unlike many ferret foods, this has the right amt. of protien w/o all the sugars & carbs that ferrets don't need (even though many love the sweets). They also love it.

Maybe it's just my fuzzies..., 1/28/2009

Jessica from Athens, Ohio

I'd heard such good things about Zupreem...but I've had my two fuzzies on it for a week now and they simply won't eat it. I've tried everything and once I got one of my males to eat the mix of old food and zupreem, he got TERRIBLE diarrhea! Now both of them will only nibble at it and have diarrhea. Now one of my ferrets is losing weight and the vet's blaming the zupreem. I'm not happy. I'm switching back to 8-in-1.

FERTS LOVE IT!, 1/17/2009

Breann from Tell City, IN

My fuzzies LOVE this food. I changed from Marshalls to Zupreem and when I was still shifting their foods, and I still some Marshalls food in the dish, that's all that was left by the end of feeding time. They ate every bit of the Zupreem. It makes their poo stickier and lighter in color, but they seem to love the food so I'm satisfied. I RECOMMEND YOU TRY IT!

Zupreem, 12/12/2008

Jennifer from Plano, TX

My ferret LOVES this food. I tried weaning her off of her original food when I first introduced Zupreem and she only at the Zupreem out of the bowl. I also find it strange that some say that their waste does not smell when feeding zupreem; my ferret's seems to smell more now and is sticky difficult to clean. But the nutrition is totally worth the extra effort and she loves it.

Loves it!, 12/1/2008

Felicia Harriger from Plainwell, MI

My little man loves this food. If I don't put it away he will find away to get to it, and spill it all over the floor. His poo is stickier, but it's healthy for him. I rescued him from a shelter, and his fur was so thin, and he was very skinny. After putting him on this diet he looks great and has a lot of energy. He loves to play with the dog now.

Two thumbs up!, 11/18/2008

Cathy McCardle from Tallassee,Al.

Our two babies were being fed a Marshall diet when we brought them home. Our little boy, Max, was very thin and his coat was lackluster and thin also. We gradually switched them over to Zupreem and he now looks like a different fuzzy!! He has gained some much needed weight and his coat is now thick and shiny. Our female, Maxine loves it too. As for the odor issue, we haven't noticed a significant change and certainly not enough to warrant going back to their previous diet! We love this food!

Great Food!!, 10/5/2008

Mellie from under a bed, United States

This food is great, I mix it with Evo Cat food and it's great!!My fuzzies are happy, I just got 2 new fuzzies added to my family and they were on horrible food when I first got them and now they are on my mix and their coat is so much shinier and softer.Sure the poop stinks, who cares I don't think anyone's smells like roses. This food is best mixed with another type of food to make it even better, my kids love it and so do I.

ZuPreem satisfactory, 9/21/2008

Anthony from NY

I switched from 8&1 and had good results. My skinnier guy started getting into better shape. But my in shape guy started gaining too much weight. It's sort of funny and we now nickname him "fatboy" because of it. From the looks of it, everything is fine. Except for the smell of their poop. It's weird that everyone is claiming that it doesn't stink, but once they poop it stinks up the room and it sticks to the litter pan & scooper, making cleaning much more difficult. Probably the lower fiber content caused the stools to be sticky, but the smell is also an issue I have.

Love This Food, 8/30/2008

Cheyenna from Lima, Ohio

I switched brands to Zupreem & since I have noticed more activity & thicker & more shiny hair. One of my ferrets has insulinoma & this food has one of the higher protein amounts which is critical for him. I also could not get him to eat on his own ( *I would have to syringe feed Gerber Chicken for babies 6-8 x's a day) but since switching him to this food, he eats on his own & the high protein helps balance his sugar levels. And for those of you i read about it makes their poop smell...well what poop don't????? I do notice it makes them poop a little more but hey, they love it, it's a reasonable price & the quality of nutrients they get it's well worth the extra trip to clean the litter boxes!!!

Switched to ZuPreem, 4/22/2008

Darrell Howell from Wirtz, VA

We switched our ferret to ZuPreem and most of the odor went away. She never missed a beat when we switched and she is using the litter box less also. We really like this food. It's also about 6 bucks more at PetSmart so that takes care of the shipping from ferret.com

Not very happy., 4/8/2008

Corey from Chicago, IL

With all the great reviews I have read here and elsewhere I thought Zupreem would be a great high quality food to feed my fuzzies but I think I was wrong. I switched them slowly from 8 in 1 to Zupreem and they took to the Zupreem with no problems. But after being solely on Zupreem their feces began to smell incredibly strong and awful! The worst their feces has ever smelled! (Bi-odor only helps a little) Also their feces has become very soft and sticky, it clings to the litter pan and is difficult to scoop and clean.

Best On The Market!, 3/31/2008

Luke M. from New Philadelphia, Ohio

ZuPreem maybe a little more expensive than most commercial brands out there, but it is well worth the extra few dollars. Not only do my 3 fuzzies (Goomba, Princess & Koopa) love it, I know that I am providing the best food for their health and well-being. Within days of introducing my fuzzies to this diet there was a noticeable change in their activity level as well as their coat. Zupreem is the way to go!

One of the best commercial ferret diets!, 2/21/2008

Ken W, Peanut & Pretzel from Henderson / Las Vegas, NV

Selecting your ferret's diet is one of the most critically important decisions you can make for the health and well-being of your furballs. After careful research and comparisons of almost all commercial ferret diets on the market, I have come to the conclusion that this is probably the best single ferret diet you can provide your fuzzies, especially if you feed a single diet. I would recommend that you feed your ferrets at least a combination of 2 high quality foods early on with occasional healthy treats due to their olfactory imprinting, for variety & interest, and in case one of the products becomes unavailable. Just because a ferret may like to eat a particular food doesn’t mean that it’s healthy for them! Zupreem is my primary food (largest proportion of their diet, 75%) that I provide my loved ones as it has one of the best combinations of ingredients in the right proportions with an excellent composition and nutritional analysis: [Ingredients: Chicken Meal, Chicken Fat, Ground Wheat, Wheat Flour, Chicken, Egg Product, Beet Pulp, Natural Chicken Flavor, Brewers Yeast, Flax Seed, Potassium Chloride, Choline Chloride, Iodized Salt, Taurine, DL-Methionine, Natural Mixed Tocopherols, Rosemary Extract, Citric Acid, Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Chloride, Manganous Oxide, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Thiamine, Niacin, Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement.] [* Guaranteed Analysis: Protein (min) 40%, Fat (min) 20%, Fiber (max) 2%, Moisture (max) 10%] High animal/meat based protein, high fat, low fiber, no sugars, no stinky fish, no corn or preservatives, less by-products, easy to digest = happy healthy ferrets! With a healthy diet, your ferrets will have better absorption/digestion, need to eat less and less often and therefore have fewer poops and less smelly poop! Another plus is that ZuPreem happens to be one of the more reasonably priced diets as well. As with any diet change, you should gradually introduce the new food to your ferrets in increasing proportions mixed in with their old diet. All my fuzzies are healthy and love their “crispies”! My ferrets and I recommend and happily rate this a “5 star” product. (No, I do not work for ZuPreem though I am a licensed healthcare professional.) Tip: Comparison shop online at different sites. It is usually cheaper than in retail stores.

My ferrets are very picky, but they love their new Zupreem diet. It is very high quality. There is not as much waste, their litter box does not smell, and they could barely wait for me to get it out of the bag before they dove into it happy as larks. Well worth the price!

I did some research on the internet and this was the brand that I selected to be the best quality for the price. My Zaria went from wet food at the petstore to dry zupreem with ease. She took right to it and her coat is beautiful, she has normal bowel movements and has had an overall improvement in her mood and attitude. I would totally recommend this food to all my ferret owning friends!

Kuzko from Staten Island, NY

Great food, my fuzzy loves it. I started feeding him zupreem not too long ago. At first I had to mix it with his previous food, but I had to stop since he was picking out the pieces of zupreem out of the bowl. I wanted to changed his diet, and it took no time. He looks great, full of energy, and his coat is shiny.

Only one complaint..., 9/28/2006

Skarlet from Jonesboro, AR

I LOVE this food. We had our ferrets on 8 and 1 all of their lives because we didn't live close to pet stores and could by it at our local retailer. When we went to a vet (not our usual) he told us to get a premium dog food with lamb and rice. I started to research foods that are healthy and found that the zupreem was among the best (and at our local pet store --yes we moved!-- was the cheaper of the highest rated). The ferrets love it! However there is only one complaint... their waste have smelled more strongly than normal, but I think it's from all the protein and no by-products. We haven't had them on it very long, but we are also trying BI-ODOR! We hope that it will take care of the problem!!
