Doesn't work, 3/14/2017

4bby from Ohio, USA

If I would have know this was matter brand I wouldn't have bought this!(I guess they bought out the super pet brand) it won't dispense water unless you take the cap off or blow in it, I replaced the nozzle with my old one works fine with that one. Also it does not screw on so the flat side is on the cage like it is supposed to. Don't waste your money, I should've looked this up first, seems they either don't work at all or floods the cage..

Very thick glass water bottle, 8/10/2016

ScootersPal from Las Vegas, NV, USA

I saw one of these in a pet store a few miles from my home. They were out of stock. That was my Lucky Day because here the price I paid was 2/3 less than the Pet Stores price. Ferret.com is the only place I'll shop from now on. Thank You

Great Water Bottles!, 5/23/2016

Sylaethus from West Enfield, Enfield, ME 04493, USA

I bought this because I needed an extra water bottle for my 3 boys, who like to fight over the water. Having a second one has been great, except now they fight over who is using this one! It's too cute, really. It has a double ball bearing system, which helps with leaks. The downside is trying to get it started. When we put it in the cage, we noticed that the water wasn't going anywhere. We watched one of the boys try drinking from it, and nothing came out. We played with the ball for a minute or two and finally the water started to flow. Outside of that, the bottle is a sturdy glass, hangs great in a Ferret Nation cage, and really doesn't leak at all! Wish I could've purchased the larger one. :)

If only it had better seals, 3/30/2016

Johnwright from Ohio

This is a good product... Spring holds bottle snuck against cage. Made of thick glass but the seals are not good. Leaks continuously even when filled to proper maximum fill line.

One of the best is not good enough...CHECK FOR RUST!, 8/25/2015

GrimmGrimms from Boston, MA, USA

A lesson on STAINLESS STEEL Inside spout collar area rusts. No such thing as 100% stainless steel. Higher ratings/grades resist rust longer. Stainless kitchenware can rust if water sits trapped in construction. Most people won't pay for a glass water bottle, so companies are less likely to make them. I threw out the rusty spouts until I can find a solution, I added a 2nd locked crock water bowl. Either way, make sure you have one because drinking from only a spout causes animals to drink less and become prone to dehydration. Creating a non rusting spout unit is a challenge. Safe plastic has to be used effectively in areas where water sits. LEAKAGE Is their a consistent water bottle that never leaks for anyone. At the animal shelter we had a drawer of parts. For this product, I fill to the rec line, then put a balled up paper towel squeezed in the bars under spout. After a few hours, it stops dripping.

Doesn't hold water, 8/7/2015

Ferretmom3 from Texas

This is the second bottle of this size (12 oz) I have purchased that did not hold water. I fill it to the specified amount, make sure the top is tight and the spout is in the proper place, and the bottle is positioned correctly on the cage. Everything is OK until someone starts to drink and then it will quickly drip until the bottle is empty. I have the the small bottle (6 oz I think) that I have used for years and it works great. I wanted the larger size because I have three ferrets who go through the small bottle very quickly. Not sure what the problem is. VERY FRUSTRATED!!

leaky fix, 1/11/2015

Azeee from United States

I would have said Maybe I might recommend. I have one of these I cannot find the metal wire hook so I am considering ordering another one. pros glass not plastic cons.. leaky .. BUT the nozzle can be turned by hand to stop some of the leak. Without the wire hook the bottle gets turned sideways sometimes and even more water leakage. but I like because it is glass and the water will last for days right now I am using a water bowl. but it has to refilled a lot. thought someone might benefit from this rating by the suggestion to Twist the nozzle.

My Fuzzies liked It so much I had to buy two!, 7/13/2014

Missy919 from

I bought my first super pet glass water bottle at petsmart and so far I really like it! My 5 fuzzies will only drink out of the glass bottle and no longer will drink out of the plastic one. I'm glad I didn't read reviews before buying! The bottle I have doesn't leak besides a few drops after just filling and it keeps the water colder due to the glass. I have to buy another and we'll see if that one leaks like the reviews say.

Liked the glass bottles., 2/16/2014

starwoman from Indianapolis, IN, USA

This product would not work in my cage because I didn't have horizontal cage bars located that would fit the brackets. So, although I liked the glass containers over plastic, I couldn't use these. I donated them to a ferret rescue organization. They were thrilled to receive them.

Leak or no water at all, 12/23/2013

JMay from

I put these in the cage yesterday one leaked everywhere the other my ferrets couldnt get any water to come out. I wouldn't waste your money on them until they are fixed. I am glad I kept the old water bottle I had in there or my furry friends would have gone thirsty. If you do buy these make sure you have another water supply in case it happens to yours.

This water bottle leaks, 6/28/2013

design flaws, 6/27/2013

billjr from

I have an older Ferret Nation model 142 and the delivery tube isn't bent far enough to hang outside the cage. Also the way the bottle has to be hung I had to adapt my cage to hang it at an appropriate height so my ferrets don't have to climb to drink from it or lay on their bellies. I do like the fact that you can turn the tube around to face the way you want to hang it, be it inside or out. The double ball bearing also helps solve the leaking problem that most bottles have.

Waste of money, 6/21/2013

ferretwoman from Maryland

I got this because I needed another water bottle and preferred to get a glass one. Now it's sitting on the shelf taking up space because it leaked half of it's contents out onto the cage floor. I tried several times to fix it so that it would not leak, and could not figure out what needed to be done. I have 5 other water bottles that don't leak, 4 of which are Lixit. I'm sticking to that brand from now on.

holly from east texas

The 12oz has proved to be a great size for my single ferret. Refill once a day & it's good all day. No leaks. Love that it's glass-- no plastic smells leeching into the water. (never had a glass bottle leak either) Arrived perfect, packaged great.

Best Water Bottle, 9/29/2012

Amanda from Grand Rapids, MI

Having a glass water bottle is great - don't have to worry about any chemicals from the plastic seeping into your pet's water over time. Very heavy duty and easy to clean. I have one in my ferrets' cage as a backup to their water dish. One of the ferrets loves to use this bottle, the other doesn't. If you need a water bottle, this one is great.

Great Water Bottle, 3/24/2012

rob from Denver, CO

I love the idea that this is made out of glass to keep my ferrets from chewing on it. The only issue that I have is that the spout cannot be adjusted. No matter how I turn the lid, the spout is always in the same spot which is not ideal for mounting outside the cage because the spout would be sticking out the wrong way. So I have it mounted inside the cage but either way, it works very well.

Excellent Choice, 12/7/2011

Kat from NY

First let me say that I can't keep a water dish inside the cage because my ferrets swim in them. This bottle is the next best thing in my opinion and I use it in conjunction with a ceramic water dish that I keep outside the cage for their swimming and drinking pleasure. I chose to buy this water bottle as it was glass. I don't believe in using plastic for eating and drinking because of it possibly leeching. I have now had this water bottle for 5 months. I have never once had a problem with it leaking or rusting. My ferrets have no trouble getting a drink from it which is quite clear because I have to refill it every day. I have also had no problem keeping it clean, but then again I wash it every time I refill it because I do not believe in exposing animals to needless bacteria. I wash my cups everyday, its only fair I was theirs everyday as well. Lastly, I love its secure attachment to the cage. It doesn't move around like many others do and I have never felt like it would fall and compromise my pets safety.

Liked How it Worked, But It Didn't Last :(, 10/11/2011

Chelsi from Darlington, PA

I really liked how this water bottle worked! I didn't purchase it off of this site, I got it in Petco and believe me, the price is AMAZING on this site. I paid way to much for it. Water came out easily and the ferrets loved it but a few days after purchasing and using the bottle the metal cap that you are supposed to untwist to fill the bottle came off of it's white base and all you saw was a white cap then and it was hard to get unscrew the bottle because of this. Basically it started falling apart. I really wish it would've worked out! I preferred the glass to the plastic bottles!

WARNING: Water Bottles Aren't Meant For Ferrets, 1/29/2011

Pink from

Water bottles are not meant to be used for ferrets. Ferrets need a bowl of water so their face and mouth can be cleaned whiel drinking. Also Water Bottles cause ferrets to bang their teeth constantly against the metal, which is very very mad for their teeth. In My Oppinion, the best water dish to get your little ferret, is a clip-on-your-cage, water bowl, which they also sell on this very site.

Not good for ferrets!, 9/12/2010

jennifer from

My ferrets cannot get enough water from these bottles. the sipping tubes are too small, and these are the only water bottles I've used for my ferrets that have had the ball get stuck such that water can no longer come out. Dehydration can be a problem with ferrets, so the last thing you want is a water bottle that requiress a ferret to work hard to get water out of it.

Not so chew proof, 3/18/2010

Matt from Duluth MN

The glass of the water bottle is great. However, the stainless steel "no-drip" tip isn't anything worth buying. Even with a double bearing, my rabbit chewed the tip and had it dripping in less than a week. We thought maybe she (the rabbit) and run out of water so we purchased the 26 oz as well. In 8 days she had chewed the tip out of this one and it was leaking again. While the bottle is chew-proof, the tip is anything but.

Barely any water comes out., 5/29/2009

Jessica from Weston, FL

I bought two of the large ones for my 6 ferrets and they were struggling trying to get water out. I had replaced my plastic bottles as they were using them for a while and needed new ones. I thought glass would be better because it doesn't contain the plastic contaminents that get in the water. I touched the tips with my finger and only small droplets come out. My ferrets like having lots of water come out. I had to replace one of them with a plastic spare I had left and they immediately drank half of the bottle of water. The glass bottle this morning is still full.

Love-hate relationship, 10/25/2008

Sanna from Finland

My rats absolutely love this bottle, so at first I didn't mind that it seemed to get a bit dirty inside and required a lot of washing. After 4 weeks of use it started to show rust on the metal parts and soon it was leaking too as the metal parts were eroded so badly they didn't fit together. Bummer.

chris m from nashua nh

I bought this bottle for about 3 times the price at the store where I bought my ferret. It worked well for a while and the duck is great and so is the flat back however the metal parts began to get black stuff (errosion?) and then the bottle just started to leak. I threw it away and gave her a dish - but she just throws it around the cage.

Works great!, 9/30/2008

J. Hersh from Richmond, IN

I got the really big one for a cage that will eventually have about 4-5 rats in it. Right now it has two and 13 babies. The two adults fought over who would test it first and got the hang of it right away. There is no leaking, it's easy to hook to the side of the wire cage on the outside and the floating ducky makes it easy to tell if the water level is low. I really recommend this!

Not Impressed, 7/20/2008

Jess from MN

I really wasn't impressed by this water bottle. The stem where the water comes out of is at an akward angle. Not to mention it's made out of glass, so if that thing falls, your ferret could get seriously injured!! The waterbottle hooks onto the cage by a stretchy metal coil for the top, and a "U" shaped metal hook for the bottom. It was more of a hassle to get into the cage than anything! The only thing that I like about this water bottle is the little ducky refill reminder that floats in the middle of the water bottle.

Great Water Bottle!, 2/25/2008

Tiffany from Williamsport, PA

I have had several water bottles, and this one by far is the best. I love the flat top design so If I need to stand it up it won't tip over. The only thing I dislike is that the straw gets rusty. If I fill the water bottle up all the way it seemed to leak a bit and the ferrets had a hard time getting the water out. but if you leave a little "air pocket" it doesn't leak and works very well!

I have 2 of the medium 16 oz and 2 of the large 32 oz, neither has ever leaked on me, they are easy to attach and remove from the cage, my ferrets cant pull them down, my ferrets chew on them for hours causing no damage. The design is where these especially shine: its the little things you appreciate, the flat top lets you set them down after you fill them up with water, the caps are made so that no matter how you screw them on, the straw thing will always face in the same direction when the cap is tightened so you dont need to adjust the straw every time you rescrew the cap. Ive dropped them a few times from good heights and they didnt break. Lastly I didnt like the little ducks in them at first but they grow on you, they are kinda cute and do make it much easier to see the water level. I could not be more happy with these.
