Awesome for Extreme Chewers!, 4/28/2011

draysniro from Ephrata, PA

We got an American Pit a couple weeks ago and have been trying to find something he will chew other than my hats, shoes, and carpet. I can't get him to take a Kong and the only things he will chew on that I give him are raw hide and bones from the pet store. I bought this to try out and I'm amazed. It took a couple tries to get him to take it, but once he did, it's all he wants. I was worried I'd have to buy a new one with the way he's chewing it, but I looked at it this morning and there isn't much damage to it yet. I'm definitely pleased with this product. I'm looking at buying some for my in-laws who have 3 more pits. Dog.com has them for half the price of the local pet stores. Great bargain!

great for aggressive chewers , 1/30/2011

Stephanie from Indianapolis, IN

We had quite a bit of trouble finding a toy that lasts more than a few hours or days for our adopted pit bull mix. Even toys/bones that said they were "indestructible" didn't last. This bone lasts the longest out of any that we have purchased and our dog loves it and chews it most everyday. I'd say it could last 6 months before it gets too small for him to hold onto. Since it is pretty big and heavy, we sometimes purchase other similar types of bones made for aggressive chewers for travel/variety, but this one is the best. Worth every penny!

Great product, 11/4/2010

Jen from South Jersey

I have two dogs, one a boxer who is not much of a chewer, the other a pitbull who loves to chew.We went through so many toys trying to find one that the pitbull could not destroy within five minutes.Saw this product online and decided to give it a try.At first he refused to chew it. Now as soon as I let him out its the first thing looks for and the last thing he chews before bed time. Since chewing on this bone his teeth seem much cleaner and he is no longer destroying other toys.He already went through 1 wolf size bone so last christmas we got him the next step up and I have to say its still hanging in there. As for the boxer she only chews on the bones after the pitbull softens it up for her. One draw back for me was it leaves a lot of white shavings all over and they get stuck in the carpet and the vaccume can not pick it up.Other than that this product is one the best out on the market for very strong chewers. And like one of the other posters said I can leave my dog with this product without any supervision because no big chunks come off and his gums dont bleed even after chewing for long periods of time.

Agressive Yorkie, 1/14/2010

R Hodges from Apopka, Fl

I bought a pack of these for my agressive chewer, a 7 lb yorky. In one day she managed to chew one end so much it is got alot of rough edges. For a product that is "practically indestructible" my little girl made a mess of it.I guess I will have to try the wolf size.

Galileo: King Of All Bones!, 12/2/2009

Ashley from Springfield, VT

I have two American Pitbull Terriers and this is the only bone for them. They chew constantly even at ages 2 & 8 and this is the safest, durable bone you can give an avid chewer. For what the product can withstand from your dog, you would think this bone would cost $20+ more(and you will in any store!)It is the ONLY bone on earth I would actually leave with my dogs unsupervised while I'm at work cuz there is nothing unsafe about it. The only tiny drawback is if it is dropped on your foot or on a hardwood floor when you have downstairs neighbors:)

BEST. TOY. EVER., 11/2/2009

Corrie from Ohio

i have a great dane who is a super aggressive chewer. she can go through one of those 3ft long rawhides in a day. this is the best toy i have ever bought her. we tried the nylabone double-action chew bone, but were disappointed to discover that it isnt solid, so once she chewed through the end, she kept cutting her gums on the sharp hollow edge. had to throw it out with 2/3 of the bone left. however, the galileo is solid all the way through - we have had the souper sized one for 2 years, and it has finally gotten small enough that she has a hard time holding onto it while she chews. dog.com sells them for almost half the price of a pet store and it is the best money i've spent on a dog item ever. just watch your feet when your dog drops it, or else you'll end up with a serious toe-ache.

The ONLY chew that lasts, 8/5/2009

Heidi from Stanwood, WA

I have german shepherds, very aggressive chewers. I went thru many nylabones that were chewed to smitherenes before I discovered the Galileo bone. I have 5 of them that have stood the test of time in YEARS, not DAYS or HOURS! I would tell anyone who has power chewing dogs to get these.

Excellent for aggressive chewers!, 7/30/2009

Hazel Mendez from Los Angeles

I've got two Pit Bulls who love to chew and the Galileo Bone can take some serious abuse! They last a long time (I've had mine for over a year now - but my dogs don't chew daily) and there aren't any large pieces that break off, so I don't have to worry about my dogs choking or having to be rushed to the emergency vet because of a blockage like I would if I gave them Greenies (look it up - they've killed several dogs) or rawhide. The Galileo Bone will definitely be standard fare around our house from here on out!

pet favorite, 3/24/2009

Drew from Chicago

i have a pitbull who goes through almost all chew toys in a matter of minutes or hours. this one has shown some significant wear in a matter of 24 hours, but appears to be pretty durable compared to other chew toys. one thing is certain, it is my dogs favorite toy now. he carries it all over the house with him. due to the weight of it, it is startling when he drops it on the wood floor right behind you, but he hardly parts with it for a moment while he is awake.

Great for Power Chewers, 1/23/2009

Marc from FL

Our Pit Bull has gone through all kinds of toys and bones. Nothing seems to last more than a couple days. This is the only bone that has lasted more than a few months. He has gnawed the ends off quite a bit so I think he likes it. We put it in the dishwasher when it is really dirty. A great choice for a dog that constantly needs to chew.

Great chew toy, 6/18/2008

Mei from Modesto, CA

We have a pit bull and 2 large mix breeds. The pit is an extremely aggressive chewer, he takes the tops off of dog kongs. I got a large one of these and the pit and our mastiff mix has taken turns knawing on it for about a year. It's worn down to a knub, but it has outlasted every other toy we ever had. The dogs LOVE it! It must be beef flavored. Definitely recommend. I'm getting more of these.

Galileo Bone, 2/12/2008

Sandy from New Orleans, LA

One of these was given as a gift to my Belgium Shepherd who is a very aggressive chewer. Nothing lasted until this bone. She has had it 1 1/2 yrs now and even thought it's rounded on both ends, she still carries it around. Sounds like she's chewing on a rock. I would definitely get another.

Our 8 month old labbc mix can take apart any toy. Even durable nylabones have their ends missing soon. This one has lasted for about a month now, and saved us some furniture and rugs. The ends are getting really rough now, but it is the most durable chew toy I have found so far. Strongly recommend it!!!

We have a 16 mth old 85 lb black lab who destroys EVERY toy we get her. Even the other Durable Nylabones are no match for her! She eats the ends right off! I am so glad I found this! We bought the wolf size, but will probably move up to the Souper. She chews the very ends of it lots of teeth marks, but so far not a single piece has come off or disappeared!. Its the only toy Ive felt comfortable leaving with her in her kennel.

I work in a dog training, grooming, and boarding facility and have heard much praise for this toy. We have boared a pit bull at the kennel who had been known for eating a black Kong within 20 min. Many months of this dog chewing her now favorite toy (the Galileo) and the dog can hardly leave a scratch on it, nevermind shred it.

I have a "super chewer". My (almost) 2 year old pit bull destroys any toy he can get his mouth on. This is the only toy he has yet to beat. He makes short work of even the strongest Nylabones. If you have a super chewer like I do you need to have this, just watch your toes if he drops it at your feet. Not a good "fetch" toy either, you may hurt his teeth.
