Product Summary:

Marshall Corner Deterrent Springs

Marshall Corner Deterrent Springs are a great remedy for stubborn ferrets that don't use the litter box. Because ferrets back up to use the bathroom, the corner deterrents will hit their tail and distract them from going.

Product Features:

  • Easy to use; extend diagonally on a cage corner
  • Prevents ferrets from relieving themselves in corners
  • Cuts down on a messy cage

Wouldn't recommend, 7/19/2016

KathyM from Orlando, FL, USA

These springs do not a thing to stop my furries from using the corner. They did however, poo on them. Better use for the springs, put them all together and use them to keep the litter pan in place. So, it wasn't a wasted purchase.

Awesome Corner Deterrents!, 12/2/2015

Vonnie from Albuquerque, NM, USA

This was a Great purchase! I received 4 little springs, placed them in corners where there is no litter box and added lots of toys underneath the spring. My 3 little Angels have NO reason to use that corner any longer. Note: I also added a spring just above the TOP of their litter boxes preventing my 1 boy from LIFTING his HINEY up too so high causing spillage out through his cage and to the floor. haahaa

Don't buy, 7/21/2015

Ap1987 from

Product did not work as described. Ferrets just go in front of them. Product does not discourage them from doing their business out side of the litter box.

I sent these right back once I received them. They are just not that useful. They were hard to clip-on to the front to corners of the cage because that where the cage door is.

Works depending on your ferret, 6/28/2013

wahya4519 from

As many reviews note, sometimes these don't work. Initially I was singing the praises of these. I even put 2 in each corner to completely eliminate the chance of my fur baby stepping over them. It worked at first. Then later (like about 1.5 weeks later) she would just go next to them. If you ferret wants to go in a certain corner or spot, I suggest putting a small litter pan there. They will outsmart you.

Didnt Really Help., 6/14/2013

mommaof2sillyferrets from Ohio, USA

One of my ferrets is a stinker and just pushed the springs down. The springs themselves are built well and easy to use. I just keep readjusting them in hopes he will get the point! I did however use the extras to hold the top of my homemade built bunny cage up from collapsing and they work great for that!

Work great, 12/27/2010

stacey from

Work great for me...for the one who rates them low because they don't work for your cage, that's certainly not this products fault. My ferret would poo in all the corners on the shelves, etc, but after just a short time with these, nothing...they work GREAT!!!

not worth it, 1/27/2010

Lauren Mahan from Easton, MA

These springs were a waste of money for me. Because they are a Marshall product, I thought they would work with my Marshall cage, but they don't. One wall of my cage has vertical bars, but the wall that is adjacent to it has horizontal bars. Needless to say, the spring simply slides down the vertical bars, so it serves no purpose at all. I would recommend being sure that you have a place to put them before buying them.

i wouldnt buy these again waste of money!!!!!!!!!!, 10/6/2009

Tara from Unknown, NY

I have two ferrets brother and sister. A local pet store talked us into purchasing these to stop our two babies from relieving theirselves in corners other than in their litter pans. They would stand on them, play with them and they would push them up and down. We use bread zip ties to hook around the spring and the metal bar in their cage than they were unable to move them up and down oh though didnt stop them from relieving theirselves in the corners just made didnt corners for them to back into. My two little babies will be a yr in December and they are half potty trained just gotta make sure u clean their litter pans out daily because they dont like messes in there litter pans. The price is cheap enough for them just worthless for working to deterrent my two anyways

Coils, 7/2/2009

Alexandra from Florida

I recommend STRONGLY against using these...for their inteded purpose, anyway. These didn't get my ferret to stop pooping in the corners at all-in fact, I think they made it more fun. Plus, she could push them down with her paws. However, they worked for holding objects down in the corners so they wouldn't be corners anymore and with our partiular cage for making the doors harder to open from the inside.

Deterrent no, water bottle fastener yes., 3/2/2008

Sarah from Brighton

These things did not work at all, to deter my fuzzies from pooping in the corners of their cage. They did work GREAT at holding the water bottles in place though. My guys always found a way to knock the water bottle hooks off, not anymore.

In the litterpan, 11/27/2007

Anthony from Reno, NV

I had the same problem with these not working at first... but then decided to put them in the litter pans, and now that is the only place my ferrets go.

Michelle from Ohio

My ferrets look at them, then go about doing their business right under them. I even tried putting all four in a corner, but that doesnt deter them at all!

These work in time, 7/25/2007

Chris from Boston, MA

Ive got these in my ferret nation cage. My ferret would use every single corner just to go to the bathroom in. I set these up in a couple of corners, and he used to go in front of them, but I moved them up and down and played with different heights. Now he is only going in his litter pan. Takes some time, but works great!

They work!, 3/10/2007

Mary from Grand Forks, ND

These did not work so well at first, but after just leaving them where they were my ferret goes in her liter box all the time now. These are worth a try if your buddy thinks hisher whole cage is the liter box!

Not very effective, 2/9/2007

George from Newnan, GA

I have tried this product to deter my ferret from going in a certain corner with no success. He is a little comedian because he now does his budsiness in front of the springs instead of in the corner. So technically they DID get him to stop going in the corner but I am sure that is not what they were referring to. High quality but pretty much useless.

Good in theory..., 9/25/2006

AJ from Indiana

These have not worked for me. I now have two in a certain corner(trying to build a little wall) and my baby ferret still gets back there to do her business when she feels like it. I guess you need to use all four on the same corner for them to be effective.
