Amazing And Indestructible!, 12/25/2012

Mei from Boulder, Colorado

My border collie/poodle mix absolutely adores this! I wasn't entirely sure if it would be worth it and it definitely was! I bought the largest size not entirely sure if he'd be able to or even willing to fetch it but sure enough he chased after it. Because it's not perfectly round due to the handle it makes him think about where the ball is going to bounce next after I throw it. The weight is fine for him, he's about 60 pounds and the largest one he is easily able to carry around without a problem. I would give it 5 stars! We've had this thing for years and it hasn't let us down yet.

Best Toy Yet!!!, 9/15/2012

Erica from Silvis, IL

My Rottweiler loves this ball! He's had it for about a good 6 months now and plays with it everyday. He tugs hard on the handle with me and my husband, and he loves to chase it when we throw it. For how much ware and tear this thing has taken, I give it an EXCELLENT. It's the one toy that has by far lasted the longest for my dog. The handle is just now starting to fall off, so I'm buying another as a back up!

great for giant breeds, 7/6/2010

shomepridemastiffs from

we love these balls! We have several english mastiffs & they love these. I can throw or kick them & the dogs don't tear them up in an hour like most of their toys. The dogs also entertain themselves playing with these. We also hang a couple off the ground for them to play with, highly recommend.

German Shepard Tether Ball, 4/11/2010

Tonya Garland from

My German Shepard loves this ball. Like many others we purchased several balls to be destroyed in less than an hour. I saw lots of comments about the handle. I love the handle because we hang it from a tree branch our dog jumps and plays all day. Now we all rest better at night.

GREAT BALL, MUST SUPERVISE...DOGS LOVE THIS!!, 4/1/2010

Jon from

I have only given this ball to my Rottweiler under my supervision. We have had it over 1 year and still works fine. Only thing is the handle can be worn down after time like any products that are heavily used. For big dogs that like to do work, this ball is perfect because it is a task for them to reteive. We just purchased the other Jolly Pets ball with the rope. Looking forward to it. Once our Rottweiler wore down the handle, I just used duct tape to wrap the handle of the ball so that the handle itself would not continue to deteriorate. So far so good. A toy that lasts over a year, and my dog loves all the time, ITS WELL WORTH IT!

St. Bernard Loves this Ball, 9/26/2009

Sunny from IL

My St. Bernard puppy of 9 months old loves his 10 inch ball. I bought it about two days ago and so far he has not destroyed it like many other toys I got for him. When he fetches it, he is able to grab onto the handle and bring it back. When he plays tug with me, I have a nice round ball to hold onto and he gets the handle. Plus, the handle lets him shake the heck out of it.

Lg Balls for dods, 9/8/2009

L.Tea from Manville NJ

I agree with everyone who says a lg ball that is chew proof with no handle would be perfect. My Dali love to push around basket balls for hours but soon he destroys them and they are so expensive. A large indestructable ball (basketball size would be a perfect toy for large dogs.

Awesome fun for our pittie, 5/28/2009

Brent from Austin, TX

This is a great toy for dogs! We've been spending $10 a pop buying our dog soccer balls at wal-mart so she has something big to chase. They last about a day until she pops them. Then, she shreds them up, and we toss them. This Jolly Ball has saved us so much money! She's taken a few bites out of the handle, but we've had the ball now for much longer than the soccer balls lasted (combined!). For what it's worth, there was a reviewer that said this would be great without the handle. I agree, and there IS a Jolly Ball without a handle, it's called the Jolly Ball Bounce-n-Play (not to be confused with the Push-n-Play). Just saw those, so I don't know if they're new, but we will definitely give it a try as well!

Not indestructable, 5/13/2009
from

We bought a jolly ball that was ignored for a long time and thought it was a complete waste of money. When a new youngster joined us, the older horse started playing with it, holding it up in the air and hitting the youger one with it who would jump up to try to get it, resulting in hours of fun ~ and eventually a destroyed ball. The handle was bittten off causing the ball to flatten.

Jolly Ball - handle chewed off, 12/11/2008

Shannon from VA

My Red Heeler LOVES his Jolly Ball. I've had 2 in year and a half and he doesn't really care for the handle much. He will use it to carry it back to me when we are playing, however, he has much more fun chewing the handle off.

Jolly Ball - good, but flawed, 8/17/2008

John Maldaner from western KY

If the manufacturer would make a soft Jolly Ball with no handle, they would have an excellent product! As it is, even the horse-sized ball gets the handle chewed off in a few days. Just takes a moment or two of inattention, and the deal is done. My dog LOVES these balls and loves to bite them repeatedly. He easily carries them around by biting them, does not need a handle to carry the ball around. I have emailed the manufacturer and talked with one distributor in hopes they might introduce a new product, not discontinue the Jolly Ball with the handle. No one seems interested. It is quite a shame as I have met a great many folks with the same interest as me in this regard. You can say these are not meant for chewing, but you might as well say they aren't meant for dogs with teeth! If you and your dog get along fine with the handle -- - wonderful for you. I'd like one with no handle.

Handle chewer, 7/18/2008

Team Brown from Philly

This is our shepherds FAVORITE toy! Our boys will throw it to her and she gllefully gallups back with it in her mouth. You can tell she feels proud when she carries it back with her handle. Big dogs and Big chewers will chew the handle off no matter how active. Our dog chews off the handles and she is a farm dog with lots of activity and weekly agility classes. It still is an excellent choice!!!!

Great Christmas toy!!, 6/28/2008

Bonny from Salamaca,N.Y.

I don't see how a dog can destroy this ball.If they can, they have too much energy bottled up.Maybe you should give them more walks instead of just toys.I love this ball.It has gone through two Great Dane puppies. The baby is a year old now,and it still holding up.It's great for any kind of weather.I'm going to get one for my breeder for Christmas!!

Great fun, 5/15/2008

Tammy from Austin, TX

My Akita, Max, has gone thru several of these. But he LOVES to play with them. Even though he does eventually chew the handles off, he still keeps playing. It doesn't deflate which is great. I say "so what" if he does chew it up, better the toy than something else that is not his.

Designed for Tugging and Tossing... NOT Chewing!, 3/22/2008

Jessica from Pinehurst, NC

I am a professional pet sitter and a breeder of Field Trial Labrador Retrivers. I love this toy! For those that complain about the handles being chewed this toy was designed to be an interactive toy, not one to be left with unattended pets. Mine have lasted a year an a half with my labs that love to chew. I use it in our yard and in the lake! They love them! I tell all of my clients about it! Again use Kong toys when you leave your pets unattended!

Great for fetch - not for chewing, 2/22/2008

Laura L from Wrightstown, WI

I am a dog trainer and have 5 large dogs. They all LOVE this ball - especially my Border Collie and Jack Russell mix. Yes, the handle can be chewed, but don't allow them to. We've had the ball for almost 2 yrs and I just make sure it is played with during "supervised play".... It's not hard to grab the ball and put it away when you're done. So - for SUPERVISED PLAY & FETCH - IT'S FANTASTIC!!!

Diane from Nashville, TN

I bought 2 of the 10 ince balls for my two 9 month old labradors. Within minutes the handles had been chewed apart. These were quite expensive and I expected more from them than just a few minutes play time! What a waist of a lot of money!

One of the best dog toys out there, 7/21/2007

I have 3 dogs, 2 corgis and a Jack Russell. They all think they are retrievers and they love this toy. For them, the smaller one seems to be more durable, as they chewed through handle on the medium sized one.

FAVORITE TOY EVER!, 5/20/2007

Lori from Washington State

My German Shepherd LOVES his Jolly Balls! its been his favorite toy since. Hes a 12 month old with a lot of toys to choose from and hes destroyed a lot of toys!, but his large Jolly Ball is paws-down his favorite! He chewed off the handle so you may wish to watch that with puppies because the chunks of plastic handle are hard but that doesnt impede play any. The ball flattens and pops back up. He can carry it around in his teeth, chew on it, and he cant destroy it. He just happily moans to himself while playing with the ball. And hes always trying to sneak it in the house through the dog door. Which is a very tight fit! Ive since bought him two more large balls. One, we keep specifically for inside the house when we leave him alone. Hes so busy with his Jolly Ball that he doesnt get into any trouble. Ive had a lot of dogs and Ive bought zillions of dog toys. But this is the first thats ever actually kept an intelligent energetic puppy engaged and busy enough to keep out of trouble. Its a godsend!

I liked it!, 4/14/2007

Ella from Washington State

My dog has gone through countless large balls. He tries to kill them and his teeth ususally pop the ball within a couple of minutes. This one he cannot pop. He can push it in to grab ahold of it, or he can carry it by the handle, but whatever he does, it pops right back up to full size for more fun. It has been a joy to us to be able to play with him without ruining the ball.

Fantastic!, 1/24/2007

Catherine from Charlottesville, VA

I gave the 10 ball to my sister who has two adult boxers. They absolutely LOVE this ball. And, they can not deflate it!!! The ball gives so the dog can grip it in its teeth and carry it around and the it re-inflates. You can NOT flatten the ball, and I know the two boxers have flattened MANY balls. This is a great toy!
