READ THE INGREDIENTS, 6/22/2011

This product claims to be the closest to a ferret's natural diet, yet rice and corn are listed as main ingredients?! Ferrets cannot digest either of those things. This is a total waste of money. If you want a food that's as close to a ferret's natural diet as possible, try EVO Ferret food....

I happened upon this product while searching for dry food that's more nutrionally appropriate for ferrets (than what's sold at pet stores). I haven't found anything that has more meat protein/fat and less plant ingredient than this (or I'd buy a cheaper product and forego the additional cost of having it shipped). My Marley really enjoys Archetypal 2. We have tried Archetypal 1 (way more expensive) and she will not eat it. Due to the cost, I tried mixing it with Archetypal 2 instead of throwing it away but she would pick out/eat the 2 and leave the 1 in the dish.

Ferrets CANNOT digest plants! THIS MEANS RICE!, 11/26/2010

AccompliceKim from

If you want to kick in diabetes, feed foods with veggies & fruits to your ferrets. If you want to expedite Insulinoma, make sure your ferret is exposed to artificial light after the sun goes down. If you want to instill lonliness, make sure you only have 1 ferret & ignore it in its cage. And if you want to hurt it, make sure you bathe it with "No Tears" shampoo that you haven't washed your face with so you can be ignorant to how bad it actually stings. I am disgusted by the decision to remain ignorant for the sake of ignorance. You can get excellent Ferret Care info FREE on Wiki!!

Super nutritious treat!, 7/21/2010

Felix Ferrant from Kentucky

Two out of three fuzzies love this! I bought it to use as treats. The kibble is very small, a third of the size of an 8in1 star, half of the size of piece of Evo, and about half the size of a piece of Zupreem. Great ziplock seal on the bag, stays very fresh in the package. When I open it, my little girl comes running for the smell, and one of the brothers love it, the other likes it. My ferrets are caged in a ferret nation cage while I'm at work. They free feed there...when I come home, I offer these in my hand at first-huge hit-then I pour some in their 'outside' the cage bowl. They all love it, and it has far more nutrition that a lot of other treats, but they still enjoy is as a treat.
